Dome of the Rock

This dome covers the Holy of Holies, the location of the Foundation Rock.  In Judaism, the stone is the site where Abraham fulfilled God's test to see if he would be willing to sacrifice his son Isaac. Muslims believe it is the spot from which Muhammad ascended to God in heaven, accompanied by the angel Gabriel.
