This is one of my favorite photos of the beautiful Chautauqua Park and the Flatirons with a light snow in the spring. The Flatirons are part of Boulder Mountain Park. From a landscape perspective, the Flatirons are synonymous with Boulder. The park is part of the Western Mountain Parks Habitat Conservation area presenting us with over a billion years of geologic history. Imagine, this area used to be under a glacier.
This beautiful photo is of an afternoon double rainbow with fantastic light. Actually, this kind of lighting occurs with pleasing frequency in Louisville. The late afternoon sun is starting to set over the Rockies and there are storm clouds moving along Colorado Route 25. Harper Lake sits atop a hill at 5,600 feet. I have always wondered where it gets its water if it is higher than everything else in the area. If you know the answer, please comment!
Here is a picture of an almost a full double rainbow. This rainbow over Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield, Colorado was beautiful and inspiring! If a pot of gold is at the end of a rainbow, what is at the end of the second one?
