Boulder CO Pictures - Coot Lake Picture in the Fall
This lake is just southwest of the IBM building at the Diagonal 63rd Street. It is a man-made lake created when dirt was needed to build the dam at the Boulder Reservoir in the 1950s.
It has an infamous history of being a place to swim without any bathing suits in the 1970s. It didn't take the city long to pass an ordinance that prohibited that activity. You might say that the best views are no longer of the people, rather now it is of the lake, the trees and the mountains.
